Visit by Director of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, U.S. Navy.
On January 28, ADM William Houston, the Director of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, U.S. Navy visited ADM OMACHI Katsushi, Commander in Chief, Self Defense Fleet.
In the conversation, ADM Houston briefed about the complete and thorough safety management of nuclear propulsion equipment of the U.S. Navy. They also shared the situation awareness about the security challenges surrounding Japan and the U.S. confirming a close bilateral collaboration as well as contribution to the peace and stability of the region by enhancing deterrence and response capabilities of the navies based upon the Japan-U.S. Alliance.
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness, engages in the defense of Japan and contributes to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region in cooperation with
allied and like-minded navies to realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.”
