Commander in Chief, the Self-Defense Fleet presented a Certificate of Appreciation to N5 staff, U.S. 7th Fleet.

Commander in Chief, Self-Defense Fleet, VADM OMACHI Katsushi, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to CDR Bryan Yamaji, N5 staff, U.S. 7th Fleet. Since his appointment in July 2022, CDR Yamaji as the Japan Exercise Planner, U.S. 7th Fleet is a key enabler in strengthening cooperation between the JMSDF and the U.S. Navy with outstanding insight, a wealth of experience, and strong commitment who makes significant contributions to the U.S.-Japan alliance. In particular, his expertise, diligence, and optimism facilitated invaluable discussions and opportunities that resulted in the elevation of major bilateral and multilateral exercises. Also, his efforts produced timely and relevant improvements, furthering greater integration between Self Defense Fleet and U.S. 7th Fleet.

The Self Defense Fleet will continue to work closely with the U.S. Navy, from the commander to the staff and unit levels, and act together to maintain readiness and immediately respond to any contingencies, contributing to the defense of Japan and peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region.
