CINCSDFLT received a visit from Swedish Minister for Defense.

VADM OMACHI Katsushi, Commander-in-Chief of Self Defense Fleet, received a visit from Pål Jonson, Swedish Minister for Defense.

Japan and Sweden are important partners who share fundamental values and work together to cope with the challenges of the international community. In the conversation, VADM OMACHI and Mr. Jonson confirmed that Japan-Sweden defense exchange contributes not only to the national security of Japan but also to secure the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region as well as the international society. They also shared a recognition that highlights the meaning of Japan-Sweden defense cooperation and exchange as well as continuous engagements by NATO countries to the Indo-Pacific region in order for the utilization of “Free and Open Ocean”.

The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region to realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
