Self Defense Fleet cohosted a reception in Bahrain.

On November 5th, Self Defense Fleet cohosted an onboard reception with Embassy of Japan in Bahrain at JS MURASAME during the port visit. It was a grand reception attended by many distinguished guests such as VADM George Wikoff, Commander, Combined Maritime Forces (CMF).

On behalf of Self Defense Fleet, VADM KANESHIMA Koji, Commander, Fleet Air Force expressed his gratitude to the attendees from the allied and like-minded countries who have supported the Self Defense Fleet’s activities in the Middle East in memories of the 15th anniversary of its anti-piracy operations and shared his recognition that peace and stability in the Middle East is essential for the peace and prosperity of the international community including Japan. VADM KANESHIMA also stated that Japan will continue the activities strengthening the further cooperation with Bahrain and the other countries such as U.S. in order to protect the “Free and Open Seas”.

The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with the allied and like-minded navies.
