The 2nd Surface Unit of the Indo-Pacific Deployment 2024 (IPD24), JS ARIAKE participated in a Japan-U.S.-India-Australia multilateral exercise (MALABAR2024)

JS ARIAKE, IPD24 2nd unit, together with Special Boarding Unit, participated in a Japan-U.S.-India-Australia multinational exercise (MALABAR 2024) with USS DEWEY, P-8A patrol aircraft, Special Operations Forces (SOF), U.S. Navy, 5 Naval ship including INS DELHI, P-8I patrol aircraft, SOF, Indian Navy, HMAS STUART, Special Operations Command, Royal Australian Navy and P-8A patrol aircraft, Royal Australian Air Force in Visakhapatnam and the surrounding waters and airspace.

“Through the exercise, we deepened friendship with participating countries through receptions, sporting exchanges, and ship tours, and also improved tactical capabilities and interoperability with participating navies through many high-end exercise events. We will continue to work for the peace and stability as well as the maritime order of the region in order to realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.” RADM YOKOTA Kazushi, Commander, Escort Flotilla 3 said.

The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
