P-1 patrol aircraft participated in SAMASAMA 2024, multilateral exercise hosted by the U.S. and the Philippines.

P-1 patrol aircraft under the Air Patrol Squadron 3 participated in SAMASAMA 2024, multilateral exercise hosted by the U.S. and the Philippines.

CDR MATSUI Kenichi, Commanding Officer, Thirty Second Flight Unit said, “Through the multilateral exercise, we successfully improved the tactical capabilities and strengthened collaboration with the participating countries. It was our great honor to join SAMASAMA 2024 which is more growing in recent years as a part of the security cooperation between Japan and the Philippines. We will continue to work for the peace and stability of the region cooperating with allied and like-minded navies in order to realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific, ”

The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
