JS SAMIDARE conducted a Japan-EU (Spain) bilateral exercise.

The 48th Deployment Surface Force for Counter Piracy Enforcement (DSPE) unit, JS SAMIDARE conducted a Japan-EU (Spain) bilateral exercise in the east of the Gulf of Aden with the Spanish Navy frigate NUMANCIA.
The Commanding Officer of JS SAMIDARE, Commander KOGA Naoki said, “Through the exercise, we strengthened cooperation with the EU Maritime Force. We will contribute to deterring piracies and ensuring the safe navigation of merchant ships navigating in our operation area through exercises with partner nations’ navies in the Gulf of Aden.”
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
