Chief of Staff, CINC Self Defense Fleet received a visit from Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare, N2N6 / Director of Naval Intelligence, U.S. Navy.

Chief of Staff, CINC Self Defense Fleet, RADM SATO Masahiro received a visit from Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare, N2N6 / Director of Naval Intelligence U.S. Navy, VADM Karl Thomas.
During the meeting, the both admirals confirmed that the strong structure of cooperation between the Self Defense Fleet and the U.S. 7th Fleet, which have been established by VADM Thomas while he was Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, remains under the current Commander, VADM Fred Kacher. They also agreed to continue to work closely together to strengthen the Japan-U.S. bilateral ISR(Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) posture and IW (Information Warfare) capabilities and improve ship to ship communications.
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
