JS YUGIRI conducted a Japan-Singapore goodwill exercise.

JS YUGIRI conducted a Japan-Singapore goodwill exercise with RSS STALWART in southern waters of Kanto to improve its tactical capabilities and promote friendship and mutual understanding with the Republic of Singapore Navy.
The Commanding Officer of JS YUGIRI, CDR HIRATSUKA Yoichiro said, “We were pleased to hold the goodwill exercise. Singapore shares a common challenge with Japan in terms of the stable use of the ocean, and is an important partner in realizing a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.” In addition, JMSDF vessels maintain a close cooperative stance, such as calling at the Singapore Naval Base to receive supplies on the way to and from the west of the Indian Ocean including the Gulf of Aden and off the coast of Somalia. JS YUGIRI will continue working closely with them to maintain its readiness to respond to any contingency at any time."
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
