JS SAZANAMI called at Muara, Brunei Darussalam, and conducted a Japan- Brunei goodwill exercise.

From 30 to 31 July, the 47th Deployment Surface Force for Counter Piracy Enforcement (DSPE) Unit, JS SAZANAMI, called at Muara, Brunei Darussalam.
After the port visit, JS SAZANAMI conducted a Japan-Brunei goodwill exercise with Royal Brunei Navy KDB DARULEHSAN.
The Commanding Officer of JS SAZANAMI, Commander BAN Masayuki said, “Brunei Darussalam shares a common challenge with Japan in terms of the stable use of the ocean, and is an important partner in realizing a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.” We were pleased to hold the exchange events and goodwill exercise, deepening mutual understanding and friendship with the Royal Brunei Navy. We will continue to sail safely until our return to Japan and faithfully carry out our assigned duties to contribute to the maintenance and strengthening of the international order based on the rule of law.”
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
