Commander in Chief, Self Defense Fleet VADM SAITO Akira showed Chief of Navy, Royal Australian Navy VADM Mark Hammond to JS AGANO and Maritime Operation Center.
The both admirals confirmed that the relations between the JMSDF and the Royal Australian Navy has become stronger and more important than ever in recent years, and agreed to continue to work closely together, especially with the U.S. Navy, the allied navy of both countries, to create a more desirable security environment in the Indo-Pacific region.
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
