The 3rd Surface Unit of the Indo-Pacific Deployment 2024 (IPD24), JS NOSHIRO conducted a Japan-French bilateral exercise “OGURI-VERNY 24-3” with the French Navy, FNS VENDEMIAIRE off the coast of Noumea.
The Commanding Officer of JS NOSHIRO, CDR HORI Tetsunobu said, “Through the exercise, we improved our tactical capabilities and strengthened cooperation with the French Navy. France is a special partner in realizing a Free and Open Indo-Pacific, and I am pleased to have had the opportunity to work with their naval forces in the South Pacific. We will continue to carry out our assigned missions in IPD 24.”
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
