Farewell visit from the Commander of the U.S. Naval Forces Japan.

On 13 June, Commander in Chief of the Self-Defense Fleet, VADM SAITO Akira received a visit from the Commander of the U.S. Naval Forces Japan, RADM Carl Lathi as he will leave his post soon.
VADM SAITO paid his respect to RADM Lathi as he has made a sincere effort in improving interoperability and strengthening cooperation between the U.S. and Japanese navies since he assumed his post in July 2021, and expressed his heartfelt gratitude and farewell to him.
The Self Defense Fleet will continue to work closely with the U.S. Navy, from the commander to the staff and unit levels, and act together to maintain readiness to immediately respond to any contingencies, contributing to the defense of Japan and peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region.
