JS SAZANAMI conducted a Japan-Pakistan goodwill exercise.

The 47th Deployment Surface Force for Counter Piracy Enforcement (DSPE) Unit, JS SAZANAMI conducted a Japan-Pakistan goodwill exercise in the east of Gulf of Aden with the Pakistan Navy PNS ASLAT.
The Commanding Officer of JS SAZANAMI, Commander BAN Masayuki said, “Through the exercise, we improved our tactical capabilities and a mutual understanding between the JMSDF and the Pakistan Navy. We will contribute to deterring piracies and ensuring the safe navigation of merchant ships navigating in our operation area through exercises with partner nations’ navies in the Gulf of Aden.”
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
