Commander in Chief, Self Defense Fleet, VADM SAITO Akira, hosted a luncheon on board JS SAZANAMI, which participated in the multinational exercise MILAN 2024. The luncheon was attended by VADM Rajesh Pendharkar, Indian Navy, Commander, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief, Eastern Naval Command; VADM Blake Converse, Deputy Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet; VADM Emmanuel Slaars, Commander, Joint Commander of the French Forces deployed in the Indian Ocean Joint Commander of the French Forces; RADM Chris Smith, Commander, Royal Australian Navy Fleet; and Commanding officer of INS MYSORE, which was the host ship of JS SAZANAMI. All of them confirmed that they will deepen mutual understanding among U.S., Australian, Indian, French and Japanese naval forces in a friendly atmosphere.
