Fleet Air Wing 31 conducted Trilateral Exchange with aircrafts of the JASDF, the U.S. Air Force, and the Royal Australian Air Force.

From March 6 to 8, 2023, EP-3 and OP-3C from Fleet Air Wing 31 conducted Japan-U.S.-Australia trilateral ISR exchange with RC-2 aircraft from the JASDF, RC-135 aircraft from the U.S. Air Force, and P-8A aircraft from the Royal Australian Air Force.
Through this exchange, we improved its tactical capabilities, operational capabilities in cooperation with JASDF, and interoperability with the U.S. Air Force and the Royal Australian Air Force.
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific" in cooperation with allied and like-minded countries.
