I am commanding officer Capt.Nakai.
Mine sweeper Division one is assigned
to the MINEFORCE of CINCSDFLT JMSDF.
Our division have two duties that
Mine countermeasures(which remove
Mine or Explosive object) and Mining
(which laying mine) We were reformed as
Mine sweeperdivision one from former Mine
sweeperdivision five-one in July 1st 2016
atYokosuka city, Kanagawa prefecture.
Our Division consist of division staff
and 4 vessels which include bland new
Mine Countermeasure Vessel(MCMV)JS AWAJI
and JS HIRADO(MSO) also JS HATUSHIMA(MSC)
and JS URAGA(MST). We are capable of conduct integrated MCM operations by using
those most advanced MCMV in Japan. Each vessels have posted daily activity and
those pictures on websites, so you can enjoy seeing our activities that rare to
see usually. And we hope you satisfy our public relations activities include
open ship when we visit your neighrhood. We have been engaged in various
training and practice to meet demand of various mission and commitment for
people who support our activities. As you know military organization like us,
on the whole people think strict discipline and order. That’s right but beside
those aspect we value generosity and kindness to others. We hope you have wide
understanding and include use of your neighbor port of call and supply also
crew’s liberty. We also appreciateof full understandings to use of sea area
for our MCM exercises.
When you catch sight of our vessel, please ask our crew casually.
We are very much appreciate your kindness for JMSDF and understanding
for our activities.
