RADM Hirata, DG Operations and Plans Dept held the JMSDF-USN Strategic Dialogue with VADM Dwyer, OPNAV N3N5N7 . They discussed issues and challenges to further enhance interoperability in order to realize FOIP. They shared the same understanding that any effort or act to unilaterally change the status quo by force or coercion pose a serious challenge to the existing international order, which should never be tolerated, as well as the need for Japan and the U.S. to work closely together to maintain international peace and stability in a responsible manner. The JMSDF will strengthen cooperation with the USN on all levels.
