During CSG25’s visit to Japan, Admiral Saito welcomed the Norwegian and U.K. navies for a Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Conference at the Tadodai Official Residence in Yokosuka. The meeting brought together Admiral Saito, Rear Admiral Berdal (Chief of the Royal Norwegian Navy), and a representative of Air Vice-Marshal Flewin (Assistant Chief of Defence Staff for Human Security, U.K. Ministry of Defence) to sign a joint statement on the Trilateral WPS Commitment to Maritime Domain. The three shared a common vision and expressed concrete commitments to WPS initiatives that are pivotal in realizing a sustainable and inclusive maritime security architecture, emphasizing the future direction of trilateral cooperation in the WPS field as responsible maritime nations. The JMSDF will sail alongside Norwegian and U.K. navies in advancing the WPS efforts.
