Visit to the Ground Staff Office by General Jean-Pierre Bosser, Chief of Staff of the French Army

　On Friday, April 5, General Jean-Pierre Bosser, Chief of Staff of the French Army, visited the Ground Staff Office (in Ichigaya) and had talks General Yuasa, Chief of Staff, JGSDF. The last visit of the Chief of Staff of the French Army to the Ground Staff Office was 14 years ago in 2005. General Jean-Pierre Bosser made the visit in response to an official invitation by General Yamazaki (then Chief of Staff, JGSDF, Chief of Staff, Joint Staff, at present), who made an official visit to France in November 2017.

　It was the first visit of a high-rank army staff of a foreign country since General Yuasa assumed the Chief of Staff. Both leaders shared the awareness on the significance of defense cooperation and exchanges between Japan and France as pacific nations, and agreed on the cooperation between the JGSDF and the Franch Army, in stabilizing the Indo-Pacific region.
