FY2025 is the 3rd year under the Defense Buildup Program. JMOD secured over 8.4 trillion yen as the neces-sary and sufficient budget to achieve the fundamental reinforcement of defense capabilities within the defense buildup term. In FY2025, JMOD will continue to drastically strengthen core areas of future defense capabilities including stand-off defense capabili-ties, and also focus on procuring parts and ammunition, improving our facilities, and reinforcing defense production/technology bases. JMOD secured budget to swiftly implement measures to strengthen JSDF’s human resource base, including establishing treatment of JSDF personnel appropriate to the current era, based on the basic policies compiled by the Ministerial Meeting.JMOD/JSDF held a Women Peace Security (WPS) seminar for Papua New Guinea as part of capaci-ty building cooperation project on Humanitarian Assistance /Disaster Relief on December 9, 2024. We introduced our WPS initiatives and exchanged views with participants Japan and Papua New Guinea continue to closely cooperate in this area.JMOD has set up a featured site of WPS on our English website.
