It was the first time for New Zealand navy vessels and Italy itself to engage in such activities.French Republic also sends its patrol aircraft Falcon200 from mid-October to early Novem-ber to conduct surveillance activities. Japan welcomes these activities from the viewpoint of ensuring effective implementation of the relevant UNSCRs in solidarity with the international community toward the realization of North Korea’s dismantlement of all weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles of all ranges in a complete, verifiable, and irreversible manner. As the JMSDF has also been conducting information gathering activities for vessels suspect-ed of violating the UNSCRs, JMOD and JSDF work closely with relevant countries and international organizations. From October 2 to 7, the JASDF and Philippine Air Force (PAF) conducted HA/DR bilateral exercise “Doshin-Bayanihan4-24” in the Philippines. C-130H con-ducted Airdrop and Aero-medical Evacuation trainings to enhance HA/DR capabili-ties as well as strengthen cooperation between the JASDF and PAF.The JGSDF Chemical School celebrated being an Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) designated laboratory. Then DM Kihara gave instruc-tions at the ceremony. GEN Morishita, Chief of Staff, JGSDF, also participated in the commemorative event. This designation makes domestic and over-seas aware that Japan has abilities of inter-national standard to deter a chemical attack against Japan. Cooperation with the OPCW and the international community expands JMOD/JSDF’s contribution to arms con-trol, disarmament, and non-proliferation. The JGSDF will continuously contribute to global security environment through inter-national activities on Arms control and Disarmament.X(Twitter):Modjapan_enFacebook:mod.japnInstagram:modjapanMonitoring and Surveillance Activities against Monitoring and Surveillance Activities against Illicit ActivitiesIllicit ActivitiesJapan-Philippines Bilateral Exercise Japan-Philippines Bilateral Exercise “Doshin-Bayanihan4-24”“Doshin-Bayanihan4-24”JGSDF Chemical School Becomes JGSDF Chemical School Becomes Designated OPCW LaboratoryDesignated OPCW Laboratory
