3www.mod.go.jp/en/jdf/On January 29, the Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Govern-ment of Federal Republic of Germany Concerning Reciprocal Provision of Supplies and Services between the JSDF and German Armed Forces ("Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement", or ACSA) was signed by Foreign Minister Kamikawa and German Ambassador to Japan Von Goetze. This agreement realizes smooth provision of supplies and services between JSDF and the German Armed Forces. The JMOD will endeavor to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific by advancing bilateral defense cooperation.The JGSDF held the 7th Army Staff Talks with the German Army from January 30 to February 1. FY 2023 marked a significant milestone for advancing relations between Japan-German land forces: LTG Mais, Chief of the German Army visited Japan in July for the first time in 10 years as the German Army senior leader and the airborne unit of the German Army joined the annual New Year’s Jump training conducted by the JGSDF 1st Airborne Brigade in January for the first time. Against a backdrop of such development, we upgraded a colonel-level discussion to general-level to facilitate high level discussion regarding various cooperation matters.
