Courtesy call on Minister of National Defense Błaszczak, PolandMeeting with General Staff of Armed Forces General Andrzejczak, PolandMeeting with Chief of Defence General Zorn, GermanyCourtesy call on Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Al-Khasawneh, JordanCourtesy call on President Guellah, DjiboutiGranting an audience with His Majesty King Abdullah II, JordanMeeting with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Hnaity, JordanMeeting with Chief of the General Staff Zaccaria, Djibouti5From Feb 17 to 19, Vice-Minister of Defense Oka participated in the 59th Munich Security Conference and held strategic dialogue with State Secretary Zimmer, German Ministry of Defence to discuss the National Defense Strategy, National Security Strategy, and bilateral defense cooperation and exchanges. Furthermore, VM Oka paid a courtesy call to Minister for Defence Jonson of Sweden. He stated to respect Sweden’s membership application for NATO and wished to strengthen Japan’s cooperation with Sweden. He also paid a courtesy call to Minister for National Defence Anušauskas, Lithuania and stated to work closely based on the Japan-Lithuania Strategic Partnership agreed in October last year. Through Japan’s Defense Attaché in Lithuania and Defence Advisor at Embassy of Lithuania in Japan, we will enhance bilateral defense cooperation and exchanges.From Mid-February to early March, General Yamazaki, Chief of Staff, Joint Staff visited Jordan, Djibouti, Poland, and Germany. In each of the visits, General Yamazaki built relations with his coun-terparts, share recognition of the situation, and confirmed to further deepen defense exchanges and cooperation in the future. In addition, he stressed that the JSDF would reinforce the cooperation with the like-minded countries and deal with regional challenges, in order to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific and to achieve regional peace and stability.On February 21, Japan-China Mili-tary to Military Dialogue was held in Tokyo. The JMOD exchanged opinions with the Chinese side on a wide range of topics including regional affairs and defense cooper-ation and exchanges, and the Japa-nese side conveyed Japan’s position appropriately.
