6"OQ/NOn February 12, General Ogasawara, Vice Chie of Staff, JADSF, visiting India to attend Aero-India 2023, had a meeting with Chief of the Air Staff, Indian Air Force and confirmed the importance of defense cooperation and exchanges. The JASDF will continue deepening defense cooperation with IAF and contributing to regional peace and stability.From January 27 to February 3, the JSDF conducted the Joint Exercise 2023 (command post exercise) and trained for a series of situations from gray zone to the Armed Attack Situations, and strengthened its joint operation capabilities. It has great significance for the JSDF to conduct such exercise in order to respond seamlessly to any situation. The JMOD/-JSDF continues to engage in fundamental reinforcement of defense capabilities as well as building up its posture and improvement of capabilities to respond to any situation immediately.Chief of the French Air and Space Force, Chief of Air Force, Royal Malaysian Air Force, and Chief of Staff, Sri Lank Air Force, and discussed regional situation and direction of defense cooperation respectively. The JASDF will promote defense cooperation with air forces of other countries to uphold and reinforce a Free and Open Indo-Pacific. On February 14, General Ogasawara had bilater-al meetings with Air Marshal Krishna, Indian Air Force and Major General Cheater, the U.S. Air Force, sharing initiatives in aerospace field and agreed to promote defense cooperation.
