4"OQ/NFrom January 19 to 27, the JMSDF participated in a multilateral exercise “CARAT2023” hosted by the U.S. and Sri Lanka in the vicinity of Colombo with the U.S. Navy, the Sri Lanka Navy, and the Maldives National Defense Force. Along with the U.S. sharing the vison of Free and Open Indo-Pacific with us, the JMOD/JSDF demonstrated the cooperation with Sri Lanka and Maldives, which are located at strategic points on the sea lanes of the Indian Ocean.From February 9 to 14, JS SUZUTSUKI and Maritime Staff Office participated in a multilateral exercise AMAN 23. The JMSDF has participated in AMAN since 2009 and this is its seventh time. We enhanced tactical skills, mutual understanding, and trust among a wide range of participating Navies. We also demonstrated our determination to uphold and reinforce a Free and Open Indo Pacific.
