The TOR simplifies the process for the JSDF to visit the Philippines for the activities related to HA/DR. Further facilitation for joint exercises and other activities between Japan and the Philippines is expected by this TOR. JMOD /JSDF will continue to deepen bilateral defense cooperation and exchanges to uphold and reinforce a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.On February 10, Defense Minister Hamada held a Ministerial meeting with Senior Under Secretary/OIC Galvez. They welcomed the signing of the TOR concerning the HA/DR activ-ities of the JSDF in the Philippines on the day before. They also discussed topics including bilateral cooperation and exchanges going forward, and exchanged views about Japan’s new National Security Strategy, National Defense Strategy, Defense Buildup Program.
