To uphold and reinforce a Free and Open Indo-Pacific, JASDF will engage in the regional and international peace and stability in even more proactive manner.On December 7, General Izutsu, and Major General Malinit, Commander Air Defense Command, PAF, observed exchanges between PAF and JASDF fighter aircraft deployed to ASEAN region for the first time. General Izutsu welcomed the steady development of defense cooperation between JASDF and PAF.On November 10, General Izutsu, Chief of Staff, JASDF had talks with Lieutenant General Canlas, Commanding General, PAF. They discussed topics such as the security environment and unit-to-unit exchanges, and agreed to further promote defense cooperation between JASDF and PAF.On December 8 and 9, General Izutsu visited Indonesia. He paid a courtesy call to Deputy Minister of Defense and had a meeting with Air Chief Marshal Fadjar, Chief of Staff, Indonesian Air Force (IDAF), and visited IDAF units.
