After the meeting, the Ministers signed the recently revised Memorandum. They welcomed the signing of the Memorandum in the year commemorating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Israel. The minis-ters affirmed that the two countries will continue to maintain close communication and strengthen bilateral defense cooperation, including defense equipment and technology cooperation and service-to-service cooperation.On August 29, Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno received a courtesy call from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the State of Israel Benjamin Gantz. ƧƥƧƧFrom September 11 to 17, the Indo-Pacific Deployment 2022 (IPD22) units, JS IZUMO and JS TAKANAMI conducted a bilateral exercise JIMEX 2022 with the Indian Navy in waters from the Andaman Sea to the Bay of Bengal.
