3www.mod.go.jp/en/jdf/On August 30, Defense Minister Hamada held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the State of Israel Benjamin Gantz. After the meeting, the Ministers signed the recently revised Memorandum. They welcomed the signing of the Memorandum in the year commemorating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Israel. The minis-ters affirmed that the two countries will continue to maintain close communication and strengthen bilateral defense cooperation, including defense equipment and technology cooperation and service-to-service cooperation.On August 29, Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno received a courtesy call from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the State of Israel Benjamin Gantz. Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno stated that he was delighted to welcome Minister of Defense Gantz in this com-memorative year of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and hoped to continue to work closely toward the further development of Japan-Is-rael relations. ƧƥƧƧFrom September 11 to 17, the Indo-Pacific Deployment 2022 (IPD22) units, JS IZUMO and JS TAKANAMI conducted a bilateral exercise JIMEX 2022 with the Indian Navy in waters from the Andaman Sea to the Bay of Bengal. JMSDF will work with Indian Navy and will contribute to peace of the world and to upholding and reinforcing a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.$.$//*$)*&*.0&On September 9, State Minister of Defense Ino visited JMSDF Yokosuka naval base with Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister of India to see JS KUMANO, which was commissioned in March 2022.
