Before the exercise, then State Minister of Defense Oniki visited JS Kirisame calling at the Solomon Islands and received an explanation of the mission from Commander Sakata and gave instruction to the unit and encouraged the members.Japan-Palau Goodwill ExerciseIPD22 unit visited Palau and conducted a goodwill exercise with Palau’s Division of Mari-time Security and Fish and Wildlife Protection, Bureau of Public Safety, Ministry of Justice on July 20 to 22. Palau has been a friendly country to Japan for a long time and JMOD/-JSDF continues to promote capacity building on maritime law enforcement and stable operation of fishing vessels in the Palauan waters.
