Canada has continued to deploy its frigates and patrol aircrafts to conduct surveillance activities against illicit maritime activities, including North Korean vessels engaged in ship-to-ship transfers, which is prohibited by UNSC resolution.Meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence of Australia, Richard MarlesThe ministers affirmed their continued cooperation to actively promote bilateral defense exchanges and cooperation for the peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.U.S.-Japan-Republic of Korea Trilateral Ministerial MeetingDefense Minister Kishi held a Trilateral Ministerial Meeting with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III, Republic of Korea Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-Sup. During the meeting, the three ministers discussed the North Korea, enhancing trilateral security coopera-tion, and addressing common security challenge in the Indo-Pacific region. They committed to conduct trilateral missile warning and ballistic missile search and tracking exercises, and to identify further trilateral actions in order to address DPRK ballistic missile launches.
