4+TK/NOn May 5, the 10th anniversary ceremony was held at Djibouti JSDF Base of Operation. The ceremony was attended by Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense Nakasone, Djibou-tian government and military officials, ambassadors to Djibouti, and military representa-tives stationed in Djibouti. Djibouti is an important partner to realize the “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.” MOD/SDF will further strengthen defense cooperation with Djibouti and other partner countries for global peace, stability and prosperity, as well as the safety of maritime transportation.On May 3, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense Nakasone visited JSDF installation in Djibouti. He delivered words of encouragement to JSDF unit personnel, who have been engaging in counter-piracy operation everyday with strong sense of responsibility and tension. From May 4 to 5, he met Foreign Minister Mahmoud Ali Youssouf and Acting Defense Minister Said Nouh Hassan; then visited both U.S. and French bases stationed in Djibouti.
