6.@X/NFrom March 4 to 25, the JGSDF conducted the bilateral comprehensive exercise with the 31st Marine Expedi-tionary Unit. Especially, it was the first time for JGSDF V-22 to participate in the Field Training Exercise with JGSDF Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade and the U.S. Marine Corps. Thus, we developed air assault and interoperability capabilities with the U.S.On March 10, the JASDF and the U.S. Air Force conducted the first air combat training by F-35A 5th Generation fighters. The JASDF F-35A have steadily conducted various training since their delivery to Misawa Air Base in 2018. Both countries demon-strated the evolvement of the Japan-U.S. Alliance and our unwavering Kizuna (bonds).From February 28 to March 4, the JGSDF Amphibi-ous Rapid Deployment Brigade and JMSDF JS Shiranui and JS Hyuga conducted tactical training including ship-to-ground live-firing with the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps in the sea and air space from southern Kanto area to northern Guam.
