6"OQ/NOn January 10 and 11, JS Uraga and JS Hirado of the Indo-Pacific and Middle East Deployment 21 (IMED21) conducted a goodwill exercise with the Bangladesh Navy BNS Prottasha and BNS Nirmul around Chittagong after visiting Chittagong port from January 8 to 10. JMOD/ JSDF is promoting bilateral defense cooperation and exchanges in various opportunities with Bangladesh, which places strategically important area along the sea lanes of Japan, and realized it through this exercise. On January 13, JS Uraga and JS Hirado of the Indo-Pacific and Middle East Deployment 21 (IMED21) conducted a bilateral exercise with the Indian Navy INS Shivalik and INS Kadmatt in the Bay of Bengal. JMSDF showed its continuing close cooperation to uphold and reinforce “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” with India, who shares fundamental values and strategic interests.On January 18, JS Uraga and JS Hirado of the Indo-Pacific and Middle East Deployment 21 (IMED21) conducted a goodwill exercise with the Sri Lanka Navy SLNS Sagara off the coast of Trincomalee after visiting Trincomalee from January 16 to 18, and worked on improving tactical skills, deepening friendship and promoting mutual understanding. It is important to cooperate with Sri Lanka with its strategic location along the sea lanes of Japan.
