The JMOD/ JSDF advances initiatives to uphold and reinforce a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” through training and exercises with these nations, with whom we share fundamental values and strategic interests.Japan-U.S. Bilateral Exercise in the South China SeaFrom October 29 to November 4, JMSDF JS Kaga and JS Murasame conducted a bilateral exercise with the U.S. Navy USS Carl Vinson in the South China in order to bolster Japan-U.S. Alliance capabilities to deter and respond. The JMOD/JSDF and the U.S. Forces strengthen interoperability, resilience and readiness through conducting bilateral and multilateral exercises both inside and outside of Japan.
