2+@M/NOn November 5, German Navy FGS Bayern reached Tokyo International Cruise Terminal. This is the first time in about 20 years that a German Navy ship visited Japan. The JMOD/JSDF welcomed the visit as to further strengthen Japan-Germany defense cooperation.On November 5, German Chief of Defense Zorn and German Chief of Navy Schönbach visited Ministry of Defense, and Defense Minister Kishi received a courtesy call from them. On September 24, JS Kaga and JS Murasame of the Indo-Pacific Deployment unit also conducted an exercise with FGS Bayern at the eastern of the Indian Ocean. Furthermore, on November 4 and 5, JS Sami-dare conducted an exercise with FGS Bayern in offshore areas south of Kanto region. Through such exercises as these three, Japan and Germany will continue to show its close cooperation to uphold and reinforce a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.”Further Strengthening of Japan-
