4%DB/NOn September 17, JS Shiranui conducted a Japan-France bilateral exercise “Oguri-Verny” with vessels including the French Navy in New Caledonia patrol aircraft! JS Shiranui visited the Pacific Islands Region for the first time as an Indo-Pacific Deployment unit. This exercise showed that Japan and France acted together to uphold and reinforce a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.” JMOD/JSDF will contribute to peace and stability in the Pacific Islands Region through these bilateral/multilateral exercises.On September 21, JASDF and the U.S. Air Force conducted a bilateral training over Japan Sea, East China Sea and airspace surrounding Okinawa.
