40BS/NOn July 21, Minister of Defense Kishi received a courtesy call from Deputy Secretary of State of the U.S. Wendy R. Sherman. This is her first visit to Japan since she assumed the current responsibility. They took this opportunity to have a fruitful discussion on the regional situation among other topics. They confirmed that both countries will work closely together to further enhance the Japan-U.S. Alli-ance in order to ensure the peace and stability of the region, and maintain and strengthen the “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.“On August 10, Minister of Defense Kishi received a courtesy call from Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, U.S. Embassy Tokyo Raymond Greene. Defense Minister Kishi welcomed the inauguration of the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim U.S. Embas-sy Tokyo Raymond Greene.
