5Admiral YAMAMURA, Chief of Staff, JMSDF had a meeting with Admiral PAPARO, Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet on June 7. In addition to strengthening the ability of Japan-U.S. alliance to deter and counter threats, they shared their current status and future course of action to realize “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.”General Koji YAMAZAKI, Chief of Staff, Joint Staff held bilateral talks on June 1 with Admiral John Aquilino, Com-mander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command as his first visit since taking command, at the Ministry of Defense, Tokyo Japan.
