Follow us !!On March 19, Defense Minister Kishi attended the commis-sion ceremony for the new destroyer Haguro, which is to be deployed at the 8th Escort Division, and addressed the crew. JS Haguro is equipped with SM-3 Block ⅡA, Japan-U.S. joint developed interceptor missile, and CEC capability, On March 24, State Minister Nakayama attended the commis-sion ceremony for the new submarine Toryu, the 12th subma-rine of “Soryu” type, and addressed the crew. The newer “Soryu” type submarine, which was planned after FY2015, is equipped with lithium battery and is superior which realized higher air-defense capability than conven-tional destroyers. She is expected to strengthen the Comprehensive Air and Missile Defense.in the aspect of underwater durability.
