The Air Systems Research Center is responsible for the research and test & evaluation on aircrafts, aircraft-related equipments and missiles. The portable UAV flies autonomously using GPS and takes pictures with a mounted camera XF7-10 XF7-10 is a fuel efficient and environment resistant high bypass-ratio turbofan engine with advanced technologies.(JFY2001〜) XF7-10 is installed outside of the right engine of Air Self-Defense Force C-1 FTB (Flying Test Bed). (JFY2004〜2006) The Missile Simulator System The Missile simulator, consists of flight tables, antenna arrays, anechoic chambers and control computers, is to conduct hardware-in-the-loop simulations of either missile components or integrated systems to supplement number of real firings of newly developed items. The picture shows the 5-axis flight table of the missile simulator system with an IR image generator. Niijima Branch Missile firing test Ground/Air/Ship missile firing tests are conducted to verify or to demonstrate integrated systems performance of newly developed missiles. Data obtained are also utilized for calibrations of the missile simulator system.
