CINCSDF had a meeting with Commander, Djiboutian Navy.

During his visit to Djibouti, Commander in Chief, Self Defense Fleet, VADM SAITO Akira talked with Commander, Djiboutian Navy, Colonel Ahmed Daher Djama.
VADM SAITO expressed his appreciation to the Djiboutian Navy for its support to the Ministry of Defense and the JMSDF, which have the only overseas base in Djibouti and engage in anti-piracy activities.
The both Commanders confirmed that they will promote defense cooperation, including goodwill exercises and Ship Rider Program, at various levels to increase the relationship that has been established between the Djiboutian Navy and the JMSDF.
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
