CINCSDF had a meeting with Commander, Combined Task Force 151.

Commander in Chief, Self Defense Fleet, VADM SAITO Akira, visited the Kingdom of Bahrain and had a meeting with Commander, Combined Task Force 151 RADM Antonio Braz de Souza (Brazilian Navy).
At the beginning of the meeting, Commander Saito informed that the counter-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden and off the coast of Somalia conducted by CTF 151 led by Brazilian Navy are important activities to stabilize the Middle East and Africa regions, and that the Self Defense Fleet intends to further strengthen cooperation and coordination with CTF 151.
Based on the common understanding that piracy in the Gulf of Aden and off the coast of Somalia is a serious threat to the peace and prosperity of the international community, the both commanders confirmed that they will maintain a close international cooperative posture, including EU Naval Forces, in order to maintain the maritime order based on the rule of law.
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
