Visit to the Maritime Operation Center by Commander in Chief of the Chilean Navy.

The Commander in Chief of the Chilean Navy, Admiral Juan Andres de la Maza visited Commander in Chief of the Self Defense Fleet, Vice Admiral SAITO Akira in the Maritime Operation Center.
Admiral De La Maza toured the Maritime Operations Center with Chief of the Maritime Staff, Admiral SAKAI Ryo. During the meeting, they discussed deepening relations between the JMSDF and the Chilean Navy and maritime security issues.
Japan and Chile are not distant countries to each other but neighboring countries connected by the Pacific Ocean, and both are sharing common basic values.
The Self Defense Fleet maintains responsiveness, engages in the defense of Japan, based on the deterrence and the responsiveness of the strong Japan-US Alliance, and sincerely contributes to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
