JAPAN-Australia Fleet Commanders meeting in MILAN2024.

Commander in Chief, Self Defense Fleet, VADM SAITO Akira, had a meeting with RADM Chris Smith, Commander of the Royal Australian Navy Fleet, at the venue of MILAN2024. Both commanders confirmed that the Australian and Japanese fleets will further cooperate to realize a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific" and contribute to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region by conducting high-end combined exercises with a focus on Australia-Japan and Australia-Japan-U.S.
