Commander in Chief, Self Defense Fleet and Flag Officer Commanding in Chief, Eastern Naval Command, Indian Navy meeting in MILAN2024.

Commander in Chief, Self Defense Fleet, VADM SAITO Akira, had a meeting with VADM Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief, Eastern Naval Command, Indian Navy. Both commanders agreed that the Japan-India Fleets will conduct multilateral exercises more actively with the U.S. and Australia, in addition to bilateral exercises between Japan and India, to further improve the interoperability of the JMSDF and Indian Navy toward the realization of a "Free and open Indo-Pacific.”
