The JMSDF Self-Defense Fleet participated in Self-Defense Force Joint Exercise (CPX: Command Post Exercise) Keen Edge 2024.

From February 1 to 8, the Self Defense Fleet participated in the FY2023 Self Defense Force Joint Exercise (Command Post Exercise: Keen Edge 2024).
The Self-Defense Fleet conducted drills and verifications related to the integrated operations of the Self-Defense Forces, making the exercise realistic and advanced. U.S. and Australian forces also participated in the exercise to strengthen Japan-U.S. joint response capabilities and cooperation with Australian forces. The Self Defense Fleet conducts not only FTX with navies of Australia, the U.S. and other countries, but also CPX with allied armed forces staff, officers, which facilitates close coordination. This enables us to contribute to the security of Japan and the regional peace and stability.
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains readiness, contributes to the defense of Japan based on the deterrence and response capabilities of the strong Japan-U.S. Alliance and cooperates with allied and like-minded navies for the realization of a “free and open Indo-Pacific.”
