JS SAZANAMI conducted a Japan-Malaysia bilateral exercise.

The 47th Deployment Surface Force for Counter Piracy Enforcement (DSPE) Unit, JS SAZANAMI conducted a Japan-Malaysia bilateral exercise in the Andaman sea with the Royal Malaysian Navy KD JEBAT.
The Commanding Officer of JS SAZANAMI, Commander BAN Masayuki said, “We believe that through this exercise, we were able to improve our tactical capabilities, mutual understanding and the cooperative relationship of trust with the Royal Malaysian Navy in order to maintain and strengthen a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.” We will continue to maintain high level of tension, and engage in our upcoming missions while maintaining a posture to respond swiftly to any contingency.”
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region, not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies.
