Director of National Security Policy Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, visited the Djibouti JSDF Base.

January 26, 2024, Mr. NAGANO, Director of National Security Policy Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, visited the Djibouti JSDF Base. Mr. NAGANO received a briefing on the counter piracy enforcement, then called on base facilities and a mission flight by 53rd Deployment Air Force for Counter Piracy Enforcement (DAPE).
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region not only for the defense of Japan but also for the realization of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific,” in close coordination and cooperation with navies of the ally and like-minded countries, making the most of the flexibility and mobility that are the characteristics of the naval forces.
