Visitation to Maritime Operations Center by the Director of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, U.S. Navy.

On January 23, the Director of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, U.S. Navy, Admiral William J. Houston visited Commander in Chief of the Self Defense Fleet, Vice Admiral SAITO Akira in Maritime Operation Center.
In addition, they agreed to continue enhancing deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance. VADM SAITO was also briefed on the complete and thorough safety management of nuclear propulsion equipment in the U.S. Navy.
The Self Defense Fleet maintains readiness, engages in the defense of Japan and contributes to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region in cooperation with allied and like-minded navies to realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.”
